Today I put the wallpaper: the stripes at the back of the shop, and little bunches of flowers on the sides... I also used leftovers to paper the inside of the shop counter and of the corner shelves. I've never been totally sure of my choice, but I think it looks quite nice!

LE CABLAGE / WIRING
It doesn't look like a clean job to me, but I could not think of another way to do it.... Eventually, it should be covered by the egg carton bricks! Wait and see!
INSPIRATION
Here are a few photos of real tea shops, tea rooms and shabby chic shops that I found on Google Images. They are really helpful as a source of inspiration, and I regularly have a look at them when I hesitate about a detail or the general atmosphere I would like to give to my project.

WOOD PANELING
Today I tried two different techniques for my future wood paneling. What you can see in red is what I intended to do in cardboard, to later glue it on the balsa, and then paint it white.
On the right, the second option would be to slightly cut directly into the wood, enlarge the cut with the tip of a pencil, then paint it. Whatever option I will choose, I have to admit it took me a lot of browsing on different types of sites and blogs to find out how I could do!
I must say I got one of the ideas from Otterine's blog, in which she always put great photos!
NEW SHELVES FOR THE TEA ROOM
Tonight I took some measurements to cut new shelves in some balsa wood. This way I will be able to display a nice collection of tea pots by the window (I've just ordered a couple from The Dolls House Emporium!)
WITH OR WITHOUT?
the lattice work? Not that I don't like it, but I think we can get a better view of the inside of the shop without it. On the other hand, I would be afraid of committing an architectural crime if I take it off...
