INTERESTING SHOPFRONTS

I like this one very much. I found it particularly interesting because it is very similar to my own shop. I really like the shade of pink, but I think the letters of PATISSERIE are too big.

I really like those lamps, an the color of the shop as well....

Another one that looks a lot like mine. It helped me decide that I didn't want an all-pink shopfront, and gave me the idea to put aditional shelves by the windows to make a nice display of teapots.

That would be nice to have two little benches in front of the shop, and a board with the menu!

Before starting some real work on my shop, I spent hours on the net to look for information, photos, details, to have a general idea of what I really wanted to do. So here are pictures of real and miniature shopfronts I found really interesting, for this project and future ones.

THANK YOU BRAE!

Here is the address of a blog which is an endless source of inspiration! Brae is a real artist, and she is also very generous as she makes tutorials and shares her techniques. I have learnt a lot from her so far, and am sure I will again soon.

THANK YOU FLORENCE!

This afternoon, I paid my neighbour Florence a visit. She had told me the day before that she would probably have a few things I could use for my project. And she had indeed! Boxes full of ribbons, buttons, lace, medals, pearls, etc.... A real treasure she has been very generous to share! And I will certainly return!

LE PARQUET / THE WOOD FLOORING (part 2)

This weekend, I started glueing the wood floor, strip by strip. I think.....

this new hobby.....

will definitely....

teach me patience!

Oh It starts looking like a proper room now, doesn't it!

Eventually, I added the first coat of indoor wood varnish (light oak), and I must say I was quite happy with the result until Paul gave it a look and asked me why I hadn't painted it white....
Now I have a doubt...
