ON eBAY

Here are a few things I got on ebay over the summer. They are of various sizes and colours, but I think I could make something nice out of some of them!

BACK TO WORK!

After more than two months of interruption, I am back onto my tea shop at last! Today, I added some picture rails on top of the wooden boards, and I finished glueing the skirting boards! I am not satisfied with the work done today yet, as there are a lot of gaps to be filled. I also used the extra bits of wood to make a window frame.
I've kept minis on my mind over the summer holiday. I will show you a couple of small things I got from a shop and from a flea market.

MY FIRST FAIR: LE SALON INTERNATIONAL DE LA MAISON DE POUPEE DE PARIS

Hello! I know I haven't done much recently, but I will be on holiday in ten days! Nevertheless, I went to my first miniature fair last Sunday: the international dolls house fair in Paris. First I was a bit disappointed because there weren't any houses to sell, but I discovered loads of beautiful things, collected a lot of cards from different craftsmen and women, got new ideas, talked to people from Italy, Belgium, Spain, England, and all around France of course!

And I couldn't resist buying a few things! This tea pot was very expensive (22 €) but I found it really beautiful and quite unique!

Isn't it the cutest little bird you have ever seen?

Another teapot for my tea room, and this cute little mushroom that would look really nice in a fairy house (a future project?)

Some pieces of paper to be put under cakes, from    http://www.mondodifavola.blogspot.fr/

And potteries for the terrace!

SHOPPING AT THE DHE

Last Thursday, I received my parcel from The Dolls House Emporium. I was afraid some of the items would be broken when I saw the state it was in! Fortunately, everything was fine!

I like the radiators and the vase of roses...

I now have quite a nice collection of teapots to start with, although I am a bit disappointed by the details on some of them. I am not a fan of the dog either...

WALLPAPER / LE PAPIER PEINT

Today I put the wallpaper: the stripes at the back of the shop, and little bunches of flowers on the sides... I also used leftovers to paper the inside of the shop counter and of the corner shelves. I've never been totally sure of my choice, but I think it looks quite nice!

LE CABLAGE / WIRING

It doesn't look like a clean job to me, but I could not think of another way to do it.... Eventually, it should be covered by the egg carton bricks! Wait and see!

INSPIRATION

Here are a few photos of real tea shops, tea rooms and shabby chic shops that I found on Google Images. They are really helpful as a source of inspiration, and I regularly have a look at them when I hesitate about a detail or the general atmosphere I would like to give to my project.

WHICH WALLPAPER(S)?

Number 1: the stripes

Number 2: the roses and blue stripes
Number 3: little pink flowers
Number 4: little bunches of flowers
Number 5: big roses

OUTER WALLS/MURS EXTERIEURS

Today I added a first coat of grey paint on the outside walls. I'd better start making bricks to be able to cover the walls once the inside is papered!
